Do you love working with young children and are passionate about spending your days outdoors in nature, rain or shine? Are you dependable, self-directed, and excited about creating a magical forest summer for preschoolers?
Oregon Outdoor Kids Forest Preschool, a local multiple award winning program is hiring for our Summer Program, running July 8 – August 28, Tuesdays through Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This is a seasonal part-time role, with the option to continue on a permanent bases into the school year for the right person.
About the Role
You’ll be the lead teacher with a small group of children in beautiful outdoor settings in and around Eugene. This position is ideal for someone who:
- Is available for the entire summer session: July 8 – August 28, every Tuesday through Thursday from 10–1
- Is confident and experienced working independently with children ages 3–5
- Loves nature and thrives outdoors in all weather
- Believes in child-led, play-based learning and nurturing wonder in the natural world
- Is ready to complete all required training by June 13
There is also the option of starting immediately (1–2 days/week) if interested.
This is a great opportunity for someone looking to break into the filed of outdoor education and gain real life experience leading nature-based programs.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have reliable transportation to travel to various nature destinations in and around Eugene
- Must be fully comfortable leading a group of young children independently
- Experience with early childhood education or related settings
- Enrolled (or willing to enroll) in the Oregon Central Background Check Registry
- Must complete training before June 13
