JOB SUMMARY: The individual in this position assists in the administration of the worker's compensation program and must demonstrate initiative, creativity and be self-motivated. Work relationships and communication are key to the success of this position.

- Assist and provide support to employees and managers in the completion of incident reports.
- Communication with employees, managers, insurance carrier, medical staff, lawyers.
- Ability to maintain confidential information as it pertains to claim status.
- Creates light duty job descriptions.
- Make random visits inside the plant to see if light duty positions are performed correctly.
- Keep records of all documents relating to the claim; file when necessary.
- Process all KOS hours accurately and in a timely manner for payroll.
- Communicates with HR, Payroll and Safety regarding status of injured employee.
- Follow-up with injured employee to determine if the light duty position is adequate.
- Participate in worker's compensation appeals and settlements.
- Create reports and/or graphs; excel spreadsheet.
- Participate in monthly L&I claim's review meeting.
- Attend the monthly safety committee meetings; present information.
- Create all hourly employee security badges; de-activate when appropriate; keep records.
- Provide support to the Safety Department when needed.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to train other employees when needed.
- Ensures no injury to self or others by following safe work practices and policies.
- Conducts oneself in a professional manner and ensures appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job function while representing the company.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must have high school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Must be able to communicate in a manner to successfully perform the job duties.
- Must have basic computer skills.
- Communicate effectively (bilingual skills preferred).
- Must be dependable; have good attendance.
- Able to prioritize and organize work effectively;
- Ability to complete a high volume of work within specified time frames;
- Ability to offer insight on the worker's compensation process;
- Problem solve; high pressure situations.
- Work well independently and in a team environment;
- Ability to multi-task with constant interruptions;
- Basic abilities on programs like Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Microsoft Office, etc.
- Works in an office setting.
- Must be able to work with issues surrounding space, temperature, lighting, ventilation, humidity and cleanliness.
- Must be able to lift/push/pull up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to reach.
- Must have manual dexterity in both hands.
- Must be able to sit/stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to twist, bend, stoop.
