Assistant Director of Commercial & Business Credit

As the Assistant Director of Commercial & Business Credit, you will lead a team responsible for overseeing commercial credit underwriting and portfolio management processes. You will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of loans, assessing credit risks, and supporting the credit union's strategic goals. This position requires a strategic thinker and results-orientated leader who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
What you will need to be successful:
- Leadership Abilities: Proven ability to lead and mentor teams, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
- Business Lending Experience: five to seven years of experience in business lending, credit analysis, underwriting, or a related field, with a strong emphasis on regulatory compliance and risk assessment.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to assess complex situations, identify key issues, and develop effective solutions while maintaining adequate attention to detail.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to effectively engage with team members, business members, leadership, and external partners.
- Analytical Capabilities: Strong proficiency in analyzing financial data, market trends, and portfolio performance to support sound decision–making.
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and familiarity with financial and credit analysis software tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
