As the Assistant Director of Learning and Development, plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing training programs that enhance employee skills, knowledge, and performance. In this role, you will oversee the Employee Development team, including Training Consultants and an Operations Specialist, to ensure training initiatives align with the credit unions mission, values, and strategic objectives, while fostering an inclusive culture of belonging.
You will lead efforts to deliver impactful training strategies, oversee onboarding programs for managers, and support employees development across various skillsets. By ensuring alignment with organizational goals, you will contribute to a culture of continuous learning and professional growth while driving key initiatives that elevate overall organizational performance.
What you will need to be successful:
- Leadership Abilities: Proven experience in leading teams, inspiring motivation, and fostering a collaborative learning environment. Ability to manage change and ensure alignment with organizational goals during transitions or new initiatives.
- Training Expertise: Skilled in designing and delivering training programs for new managers and employees, including onboarding and professional development. Expertise in evaluating training needs and aligning solutions to organizational objectives.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to assess training effectiveness and implement improvements for better outcomes. Adept at using data and metrics to evaluate program success and address skill gaps.
- Communication and Facilitation Skills: Strong presentation, coaching, and interpersonal skills to effectively engage diverse audiences. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for delivering impactful messages and materials.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with Learning Management Systems (LMS), e-learning tools, and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. Ability to leverage technology for seamless training delivery and tracking.
- Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in Education, Business Management, Communications, or a related field. Five or more years of experience in corporate learning and development, including managing and leading professionals. Familiarity with adult learning theories and instructional design methodologies. Trainer certifications or advanced education in related fields preferred.
