As a Dealer Relationship Officer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong partnerships with auto dealerships to drive loan volume and business growth. You will serve as the primary liaison between the credit union and dealer partners, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration. This role requires a proactive approach in managing dealer accounts, evaluating financial risks, and identifying opportunities to enhance lending services.
In this position, you will play a key role in business development, working closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure dealer satisfaction and compliance with lending policies. You will also be responsible for monitoring market trends, assessing dealership performance, and implementing strategies to increase loan production and member engagement.

What you will need to be successful:
- Relationship Management & Sales: Proven ability to develop and maintain strong dealer relationships to drive loan production. Experience in business development and negotiation, with a track record of achieving sales targets. Ability to effectively communicate financial solutions to dealership partners and internal stakeholders.
- Market & Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with auto industry trends, financing programs, and competitive lending rates. Ability to analyze dealership performance and identify opportunities for growth.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to assess financial risks, interpret data, and make sound lending recommendations. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and decision-making capabilities.
- Communication & Training: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively present lending solutions. Ability to educate dealers on credit union lending policies and underwriting guidelines.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and loan origination systems.
- Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience. Five years of experience in auto lending, dealer relationship management, or financial services. Strong understanding of indirect lending, loan underwriting, and dealership financing. Knowledge of lending regulations, compliance requirements, and risk assessment strategies. Familiarity with financial reporting tools and risk assessment software.
