The Oregon Board of Pharmacy has an exceptional opportunity for an experienced leader to serve as their Board's Executive Director. The Executive Director is appointed by the nine-member Board with approval of the Governor. Once appointed, the person selected will serve at the pleasure of the Governor under the direct supervision of the Board. The Executive Director is responsible for the overall direction of the agency in supporting the Board’s mission to promote, preserve and protect the public health, safety, and welfare by ensuring high standards in the practice of pharmacy and by regulating the quality, manufacture, sale, and distribution of drugs. This is a full-time, hybrid remote, executive service position located in Portland, Oregon. This is a hybrid remote work position that requires a high degree of in-person engagement. If you are hired, you will become part of the State’s Executive Service team.
The Executive Director of the Oregon Board of Pharmacy directs the day-to-day operations of the agency. Key responsibilities include staff supervision, strategic planning, obtaining funding, program development, and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. The successful candidate will foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful work environment, emphasizing strong communication, collaboration, and accountability. Minimum Qualifications :
- Five years of leadership experience managing internal and external relationships, which included responsibility for development of program rules or policies; development of long- and short-range goals and plans; management of staff; program evaluation; and budget preparation.
- Five years of leadership experience actively practicing pharmacy
- Must hold a U.S. Pharmacist License
- Must obtain an Oregon Pharmacist License within 12 months of hire.
