About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Extension Agriculture Educator to join our team at Oregon State University Extension - Lake County.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering non-credit education in range, forage production, livestock, and general agriculture while fostering strong connections with local producers, organizations, and agencies.
This 12-month, full-time position is based in Lakeview, Oregon, and requires excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate successfully with a broad and diverse audience.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement educational programs focused on sustainable agriculture practices.
- Provide leadership and coordination for agricultural extension services in Lake County.
- Cultivate partnerships with local stakeholders to promote agricultural innovation and best practices.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of agricultural trends and advancements.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in animal sciences, rangeland sciences, natural resources, agriculture, or a closely related field.
- Demonstrated teaching skills suitable for adult learners.
- Ability to obtain an Oregon Department of Agriculture Pesticide Consultant License within six months of employment.
