Position Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill 8 part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Driver position for Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Creative Arts (PRAx) at Oregon State University (OSU).
The Patricia Valian Reser Center for the Creative Arts (PRAx) is hiring multiple part-time drivers to transport touring artists and performance groups, pick up meals for them, and to do other errands related to artist experience, hospitality and events.
PRAx employees will drive OSU Motor Pool vehicles to and from Corvallis and the Portland International Airport or the Eugene Airport as performance groups arrive in Oregon and depart following their performances. Drivers may also be asked to transport performance groups within Corvallis for rehearsals and other engagement activities, and to pick up carryout food and run other errands on behalf of the artists and PRAx events staff.
This is a pooled posting. That means it will stay open for several months and we will pull applicants from the "pool" for interviews as openings occur, until the closing date, and possibly beyond.
Reports to : Senior Manager of Events
Hours will vary depending on individual performance group itineraries and could include early mornings and late evening hours. Priority will be given to candidates who are available to work a minimum of 12 hours per week.
Position Duties
- Safely operating 12-passenger vans, box trucks (as needed), and sedans.
- Attending and participating in PRAx onboarding and safety meetings.
- Ensuring the vehicle is clean and presentable before and after transportation.
- Representing OSU and PRAx with professionalism and respect.
- Maintain a working knowledge of state and local driving laws and always comply with those laws.
- Understanding PRAx's mission and presentation goals.
- Becoming an authorized driver through OSU Motor Pool.
- Completing the OSU Motor Pool van safety training.
- Maintaining a current, valid Driver's License.
- Maintaining consistent and timely communication with supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned, which may include set up and tear down of events, and other event support in between short, local driving shifts.

Additional Required Qualifications
This position requires driving a University vehicle or a personal vehicle on behalf of the University; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a Motor Vehicle History Check, possess and maintain a current, valid driver's license in their state of residence, be determined to be position qualified and self-report convictions (as per Voluntary and Compulsory Driver Standards OSU Standard 125-155-0200) as per OSU Standard 576-056-0000 et seq.
