Job Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill one full-time Temporary Biological Sciences Research Technician 1 position for the Eastern Oregon Agricultural Research Center at Oregon State University ( OSU ). This position is located in Burns, Oregon.
This position exists to assist the principal investigator with beef cattle research. The incumbent will be responsible for cattle checking, handling and feeding, sample collections, prepping and storing samples and eventually running sample analysis. They will also have the opportunity to be involved in extension programs.

Key Responsibilities
60% cattle checking, handling, feeding
15% data collection, entry and management including sample collections, prepping and storing samples and eventually running sample analysis
15% extension activities that could include participating in workshops, conferences and other outreach activities
10% other duties as assigned
What We Require
Two years of college-level courses in (specific field of biological science); OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
What You Will Need
Two years of college-level courses in animal sciences, biology or a related discipline; OR an equivalent combination of training and experience.
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.
What We Would Like You To Have
This position requires working with large animals (cattle) and ability to frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds. This position could involve irregular work hours and/or days and variable weather conditions of the high desert.

What We Require
