Job Summary
This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time (20 hours per week) Temporary Laboratory Animal Technician 2 position for the Department of Animal & Rangland Sciences at Oregon State University (OSU).

This position reports within the Animal and Rangeland Science unit in OSU’s College of Agricultural Sciences.
The incumbent will be task to take care of chickens involved in an experiment, including feeding, cleaning, and collecting samples. This work will perform lab functions to support the research objectives of the PI.

Key Responsibilities
20% Collect research samples, ensuring integrity of specimens, collection methodology.
80% Feed animals following specific protocols, clean, check for animal health.

What We Require

Two years of experience in the care of experimental animals in a research setting; OR An equivalent combination of training and experience.



What You Will Need
This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; therefore, the incumbent must successfully complete a criminal history check and be determined to be position qualified as per University Standard: 05-010 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in youth programs may have additional criminal history checks every 24 months.

Working Conditions / Work Schedule
The incumbent will be expected to work for at least 7 hours/week (1 hour/day) with extra time needed (between 4-56 hours in a single week) when collecting samples.
