What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laboratory Technician position at PNW VEG CO LLC dba Norpac?
BASIC RESPONSIBILITY: To perform quality assurance analysis on a wide range of frozen fruits, vegetables, and specialty foods.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
· Perform microbiological analysis on frozen product samples.
· Sort and categorize incoming laboratory samples on a daily basis.
· Assist in daily plate counts and sub culturing.
· Prepare and enter microbiological results into Microsoft programs.
· Working knowledge of lab/office operations.
· Monitor laboratory supplies and convey ordering needs.
· Maintain laboratory and equipment in a clean and sterile manner.
· Maintain laboratory records.
· Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
· College degree preferred, those with equivalent work experience will also be considered.
- Background in biology/microbiology helpful.
- Technical knowledge of laboratory programs, procedures, and instrumentation preferred.
· Ability to prioritize, multi task, and work independently with minimum direction.
· Good organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Basic math skills
· Ability to lead personnel.
- Computer skills to include Word, Excel and Outlook.
- High level of clear and effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- All new employee hiring is contingent upon passing a drug screen.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
