Job Summary
The Direct Support Professional (DSP) plays a vital role in providing assistance and support to individuals with disabilities or special needs. Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dressing, and grooming.
- Provide companionship and engage clients in social activities to promote emotional well-being.
- Prepare meals and assist with nutritional needs, ensuring dietary restrictions are followed.
- Monitor and document vital signs as needed to maintain health standards.
- Implement care plans tailored to each client’s individual needs and preferences.
- Assist clients with mobility and transportation to appointments or community events.
- Maintain a clean and organized living environment for clients, ensuring safety and comfort.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, family members, and other caregivers to provide comprehensive support.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in social work, caregiving, or home health is preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and patient care techniques is advantageous.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport with clients.
- Ability to follow detailed care plans and adapt to changing client needs.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively.
