Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for efficiently loading and unloading materials, in and out of presses and operating various types of forklifts, and ensuring the smooth flow of goods within the production areas. A strong emphasis on safety and adherence to OSHA regulations is paramount in this role.
Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts, including cranes, and pallet jacks, to move materials throughout the facility.
- Operate weigh scales.
- Load steel coils into machines.
- Perform order picking tasks accurately and efficiently to fulfill customer orders.
- Maintain an organized workspace by keeping aisles clear and ensuring that all materials are stored properly.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure safe operation and report any mechanical issues promptly.
- Assist with heavy lifting as required, adhering to safety protocols during all materials handling activities.
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily production goals while maintaining high standards of quality.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a forklift operator in a factory setting is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to forklift operation and maintenance.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs) safely and effectively.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations and commitment to workplace safety practices.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills for effective order picking and inventory management.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment while also being self-motivated.
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed, including weekends or overtime during peak periods.
