Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Sonographer to join our Maternal Fetal Medicine and Obstetrics and Gynecology healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in medical imaging and demonstrate proficiency in performing ultrasound examinations for obstetrics and gynecology patients. This role requires a keen understanding of anatomy and physiology, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals. As a Sonographer, you will play a vital role in diagnosing and monitoring various medical conditions, particularly in the fields of obstetrics and gynecology.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality ultrasound examinations on patients, ensuring accurate imaging for diagnostic purposes.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to interpret ultrasound results and provide comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain patient safety by adhering to aseptic techniques and infection control protocols during procedures.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, alleviate concerns, and gather relevant medical history.
- Document all findings accurately in medical records using appropriate medical terminology.
- Stay updated on advancements in sonography technology and techniques to enhance diagnostic capabilities.
- Assist in the training of new staff or students as needed, sharing knowledge of sonography practices.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
- Certification by a recognized professional organization (e.g., ARDMS) is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to sonography.
- Familiarity with diagnostic radiology principles and practices is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients and healthcare team members.
- Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining attention to detail during examinations.
- Experience in Ob/Gyn sonography is required.
