PROJECT MANAGER
Location: Manatee County, Florida

Orion Engineers & Constructors is currently seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to lead and oversee multiple site improvement projects at a new LNG facility in Manatee County, Florida. This role focuses on civil/structural projects such as constructing new assembly buildings, parking lots, and other infrastructure improvements to support production expansion. Summary
The Project Manager role oversees and coordinates facility improvement projects, equipment installations, and process modifications. Working as a technical liaison between operations, maintenance, engineering, and construction teams, this position ensures successful project execution while maintaining safety, compliance, and quality standards.
Responsibilities and Functions
- Oversee all aspects of project execution, ensuring safety, cost control, quality, and team collaboration.
- Develop project scopes, design specifications, and detailed schedules.
- Prepare and manage budgets while providing cost justifications.
- Monitor project progress through regular status updates and meetings.
- Coordinate procurement of materials, equipment, and services.
- Manage contractor selection and supervise construction activities on-site.
- Provide technical support and ensure cross-departmental coordination.
- Lead plant turnarounds, commissioning, and start-up activities.
- Conduct risk assessments and report findings to management.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, including vendors and clients.
- Oversee project close-out processes with proper documentation turnover.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering from an ABET-accredited university is preferred. Equivalent industry experience may be considered based on qualifications.
- Minimum of 5 years of project engineering or general plant/industrial experience is required.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License Certification is preferred but not required.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Experience with AutoCAD-based drafting programs is recommended.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as blueprints or engineering drawings.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and best practices.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills to effectively manage teams and stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with excellent accuracy in deliverables.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company driving requirements (including obtaining a TWIC card if necessary).
- Ability to pass background checks and drug tests, including random testing.
- Ability to work on-site with occasional remote work opportunities.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

- Work assignment inside an operating plant which requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboard.
- Must be able to bend, stoop and climb on a ladder or up and down stairs.
- Must be able to drive a company vehicle to and from job sites or office locations.
- Must be able to attend job walks wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) in an operating facility in a hot climate.
- Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.
