Job Description
Our client is seeking a Legal Assistant with litigation experience to support their fast-paced bankruptcy department. Responsibilities include:
- Assisting attorneys with the preparation and filing of bankruptcy and litigation documents
- Drafting correspondence, pleadings, and court forms
- Managing case files, calendars, and deadlines
- Coordinating court filings (state, federal, and bankruptcy courts)
- Handling scheduling, travel arrangements, and attorney support
- Conducting client communication and case follow-up
- Assisting with discovery and document management
- Supporting attorneys in preparation for hearings, depositions, and trials
Qualifications
- 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Legal Secretary in a litigation-focused environment
- Experience working in bankruptcy law is strongly preferred
- Knowledge of federal and state court filing procedures
- Experience with PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records), JEDs (Judiciary Electronic Document System) and knowledge of Bankruptcy Court Rules Procedures a PLUS.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and legal practice management software
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment
