What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at Orion S.A.?
Safely and efficiently manages the operation of production processes and associated equipment for four production units and related air quality control systems from Central Control Room location. Leads shift crew members by providing direction and instructions and ensuring critical tasks are accomplished, productivity and product quality is maintained, EHS requirements are met, and standard operating procedures are followed.

Responsibilities:
- Plan, assign, and direct work assignments; evaluate employee performance and take corrective action when appropriate.
- Interview, hire, and manage the training of new employees.
- Monitor process equipment and systems and ensure compliance to standard operating conditions and established operation practices.
- Maintain and submit production related reports, documents, and logs as required (including environmental releases, environmental process control points, injury report, shift logs, and more).
- Monitor product quality and ensures quality related inspections are performed as required.
- Monitor environmental control equipment operation and reporting.
- Lead process and safety training and tailgate meetings / take two, procedures, RCAs, work permitting, JSA reviews for shift crew.
- Monitor and drive plant KPIs at the shift level; administer shift connector e-log.
- An associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred; a combination of education and experience as detailed below may be substituted for the degree requirement.
- At least three years of supervisory experience is required; this experience may have been acquired in the military or industry, preferably chemical process applications.
- At least two years of experience working with distributed control systems (DCS) is a strong plus; the selected candidate must learn to operate the DCS as required.
- Strong operational aptitude and knowledge of industrial chemicals, pumps, compressors, blowers, dryers, mixers, kilns, high-temperature reactions, and other types of equipment.
- Familiarity with the operation of high-pressure steam boilers is a strong plus.
- Good communication (written and oral) skills, along with ability to use Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with behavioral-based safety and lean manufacturing is desired.
