Job Title: Sanitation Lead
Shift: 3rd shift
Location: Kenilworth, NJ.
Schedule:
- Hours: 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM (Monday–Friday)

Job Summary:
The Sanitation Lead will oversee the nightly sanitation program, ensuring all production areas are thoroughly cleaned and ready for the next shift. This role requires managing a sanitation team, ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation regulations, proper handling of chemicals, and coordinating with other departments for smooth production transitions.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Sanitation Management:
- Lead the sanitation team to ensure thorough cleaning of production areas.
- Validate sanitation processes to meet food safety standards and regulations.
- Oversee the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) and maintain accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure timely handover of production areas.
Chemical Control:
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and usage of cleaning chemicals.
- Train staff on chemical safety protocols and ensure regulatory compliance.
- Maintain inventory of sanitation supplies and manage cost-effective purchasing.
Leadership and Training:
- Train and supervise sanitation staff on cleaning techniques and safety protocols.
- Continuously evaluate and improve sanitation procedures for greater efficiency.
Compliance:
- Ensure all practices comply with health and safety regulations, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Qualifications / Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in sanitation, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations such as GMPs and HACCP.
- Ability to work night shifts and effectively manage a team.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) required.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand, walk, climb, reach, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Must be able to work in an environment with allergens such as flour, milk, and nuts.
