Position : Quality Assurance Technician II Location : Apopka, FL

Salary / Benefits : $23-$26 / hr - Full coverage benefits with 401k matching

Shift Hours : Monday - Thursday from 6 : 30am - 5 : 00pm; able to work overtime as needed.

  • Position Summary : A Quality Assurance (QA) Technician ensures that JSI's products and services meet industry, government, and corporate standards. QA Technicians uphold the Quality Management System of our company and inspect our production process to guarantee that all our products meet engineering, manufacturing, and quality expectations. A QA Technician will perform regular product evaluations, record inspection results, and recommend improvements to the production process. To excel in this role, applicants should demonstrate great attention to detail with excellent technical and math abilities. They are willing to train!

    Position Responsibilities :

  • Perform regular quality assessments on all incoming materials from vendors and outgoing products for shipping.
  • Reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations.
  • Read drawings, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products and services.
  • Perform weld inspections as required.
  • Measure product dimensions, examine functionality, and compare the final product to the specifications.
  • Create checklists and other outputs from drawings and BOMs.
  • Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.
  • Fill out inspection forms.
  • File, track, and review material certifications.
  • Perform quality audits.
  • Track inspection equipment and calibration logs.
  • Ability to problem solve using tools like 5-Why, fishbone, turtle diagrams, etc.
  • Supervise the production process.
  • Resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Behavior Competencies :

    Ideal candidate would be a team player, be self-motivated, and have the ability to work with limited supervision.

    Qualifications :

  • Military veteran candidates are highly encouraged to apply!
  • High School Diploma / GED Required.
  • 3 years of experience in Quality Assurance (either in manufactering or military preferred)
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office.
  • Good math and technical skills
  • Strong understanding of quality control standards, measurement techniques, and equipment.
  • Use of hand inspection tools such as calipers, micrometer, measuring tape, dial indicator, etc.
  • Experience with NDT and Magnetic Particle Inspection is a plus, but not required.
  • Some of the areas in which industry recognized credentials / certifications are being offered via this Apprenticeship Program are in the areas of :

  • Manufacturing Maintenance Technician : This is an 18-month training pathway that focuses on the upkeep and repair of industrial machinery within a manufacturing facility, performing tasks like preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, breakdowns, and making necessary repairs to ensure production equipment operates efficiently and safely; the training offers a broad range of technical skills including mechanical, electrical, and hydraulics to diagnose and fix issues with complex machinery.
  • Quality Control Technician : This is an 18-month training pathway that leads to Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certification. You will become a Certified Manufacturing Associate; with skills in Calibration, Hole Standards, Thread Standards, ISO 9001, etc.
  • Industrial Manufacturing Technician : a fast track, short term, 1-year registered apprenticeship program which focuses on the set-up, operation, monitoring, and production control equipment. You will learn general manufacturing processes & production, maintenance, quality practices, measurement, and safety measures.
  • Production Technologist Associate : a fast track, short-term, 1-year registered apprenticeship program which focuses on basic manufacturing concepts for high demand, production and assembly roles.
  • Salary : $23 - $26
