GENERAL

The Chief of Staff is a key strategic partner to the CEO and executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing the efficient functioning of the executive office and ensuring alignment across departments. The Chief of Staff plays a multifaceted role with a focus on facilitating key priorities, improving communication, and supporting organizational goals. The role involves managing the executive assistant, overseeing scheduling, preparing for meetings, and maintaining strong board relations.

This role is pivotal to the seamless operation of the executive team and helps to drive the broader strategic agenda of the organization. The Chief of Staff is expected to bring both tactical and strategic value, acting as a trusted advisor while balancing a broad range of responsibilities to ensure the smooth functioning of the executive office. 

All employees of the Partnership are expected to familiarize themselves with the Partnership Personnel Manual and to conduct themselves in accordance with its policies and procedures. 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

GOALKEEPER

  • Protect the CEO and executive leadership team from distractions and unnecessary interruptions while supporting a focus on quarterly goals.
  • Prioritize and filter requests, ensuring the most critical issues are brought to attention and managed efficiently.
  • Manage the flow of information to and from the executive team, helping to streamline decision-making processes.

 

GATEKEEPER

  • Act as a key liaison between the executive leadership team, employees, and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for high-level inquiries, coordinating response from the CEO.
  • Manage communications and ensure timely responses to important matters while safeguarding the executives’ time.

 

ADVISOR

  • Provide strategic guidance to the CEO and leadership team on key decisions, organizational priorities, and operational challenges.
  • Support the advancement of key priorities
  • Maintain a pulse on key issues within the organization, offering insights and recommendations for continuous improvement.

BOARD MEETINGS

  • Assist in the preparation for board meetings, including coordination of materials, agenda setting, and follow-up on action items.
  • Support the CEO in consulting with board members, providing them with relevant information, and managing relationships.
  • Ensure effective communication and alignment between the executive leadership team and the board of directors.

Relationship Management 

Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, department heads, investors, and partners.

Act as a trusted confidant and communicator for the CEO. Support networking and partnership opportunities that align with organizational objectives.

Management of Executive Assistant -Oversee the executive assistant responsible for scheduling, handling regular correspondence, preparing materials for meetings, and administering board meetings.

QUALIFICATIONS

    Leadership and Influence: Ability to influence decision-making processes across departments and maintain a prominent level of discretion.
 

    Strategic Thinking: Proven ability to support high-level strategic initiatives and translate them into actionable plans.

    Communication: Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with executives, board members, and stakeholders.

    Organizational Skills: Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a demanding environment.

    Relationship Building: Strong relationship management skills, with an ability to work across teams and with external partners.

  Problem Solving: Capable of navigating complex challenges and offering creative solutions.

   Experience: Previous experience in a senior administrative or leadership role, ideally in a fast-growing, political or high-stakes environment. 

  • 7 years of experience in a strategic, leadership, or operations role, with demonstrated experience in managing teams or cross-functional projects.
  • Experience supporting executive leadership or C-suite executives in high-level operations, strategic planning, or organizational development.
