Anticipated initial assignment is the Workforce Development Center, Niagara Falls, NY. Please see the attached description. The individual will provide instruction to adults enrolled in BOCES Adult and Continuing Education program for welding. The individual will be responsible for planning, implementing, and facilitating all instructional requirements in the area of welding. The program is scheduled to run for a 4-month session from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for a total of 216 hours. The individual must be able to instruct on theory and provide practical hands-on opportunities. The candidate must possess a minimum of three (3) years of experience in the welding field and be able to follow a set curriculum and content-specific course outline in the various areas of welding. The individual must have the ability to perform oversight of individual student work, evaluation of progress, and forging a solid working knowledge required in the workplace. The individual must have or be eligible for appropriate teaching certification upon hire. It is anticipated that an individual would qualify for certification with successful completion of fingerprinting (clearance) and three workshops. Prior teaching experience with adult students is desired. Regular attendance and dependability are required. Other responsibilities may be assigned. The assignment is subject to change. Anticipated salary range: $34.00 - $35.00 per hour.
