What are the responsibilities and job description for the School Nurse Substitutes position at Orleans Southwest Supervisory Union?
Orleans Southwest Supervisory Union is seeking substitute School Nurses for the 2024-2025 school year. Remuneration for Nursing Substitutes is higher than that of other per diem substitute work. The Orleans Southwest Supervisory Union pays substitute RNs $255 per full day (8 hours) and $200 per full day for LPNs. The ideal candidates will have the following qualifications :
- Current, valid Vermont RN license
- CPR and First Aid certified
- Several years of clinical experience that includes pediatric and community / family-centered nursing Areas of student health care responsibilities include :
- Assessment
- First aid
- Health screening
- Medication administration
- Assist in communicable disease control
- Immunization assessment
- Attend student meetings as necessary
- Assessment and care of students with special needs Additional areas of responsibilities include :
- Compilation of statistical information
- Maintenance of health and medication records / logs
- Accident reporting
- Member of the Wellness and Safety Teams
- Student / staff emergency card maintenance
- Preparation of required state reports
- Providing staff and parents with information on school health policies, and other pertinent health resource information
- Providing interpretation of health information to staff and parents
- Promoting a healthy school environment
