Packaging Team Lead Job Description
Ornua Ingredients North America custom formulates and manufactures a complete line of pasteurized process cheese products. We are looking for an energetic, fast-paced, hardworking and reliable employee to join our Packaging team as Team Lead!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
- Maintain a list of current packaging employees (fulltime and temporary). Record the job positions of all Packaging and Production employees daily. Document employees that are off, leaving early, or arriving late Submit the list to the Accounting department at the end of the day
- Take any labels and other supplies needed for the day’s production run out to the packaging floor
- Assign Packaging Employees (fulltime and temporary) to their job positions daily
- Assist with set up if needed
- Set filler weights for shippers if needed
- Fill in on the line for employee breaks and bathroom breaks
- Set up and print “End of Product” run labels
- Set up and print any shipper and sample labels needed for the following day’s production
- Retrieve appropriate loaf labels for the following day’s production (if needed).
- Prepare documentation for appropriate Packaging employees including : Line Leader’s Pallet Record, Stacker’s Notebook, and Downtime Report. File all documentation at the end of the day, submit appropriate copies to Accounting, Production Manager, and Operations Manager
- Oversee Packaging employees. Serve as a facilitator for disputes, employee issues, etc. Report issues and concerns to the Production Manager
- Complete label inventories when needed
- Complete inventory for other plant necessities (gloves, paper towels, hair nets, beard nets, some cleaning materials. etc.)
- Return cut-resistance gloves to the appropriate bins following laundry services. Submit worn and defective gloves to the Safety Coordinator for replacement
