You'll teach, guide, and inspire swimmers of all ages while ensuring a safe and fun learning environment. If you're a strong swimmer, love working with people, and have a passion for water safety, we want YOU on our team!
Your Role Will Include:
- Planning, coordinating, and teaching swimming lessons to groups of 4-8 students and water safety courses for preschoolers, youth, and adults.
- Implementing the Red Cross swimming curriculum, providing clear instruction, and adapting lessons to meet students’ needs.
- Ensuring participant safety, creating an enjoyable learning environment, and promoting skill development.
- Working collaboratively with Community Education staff to support swimmers' growth and communicate program needs with the Aquatics Coordinator.
- Directing and supporting a Water Safety Aid assisting with lessons, while engaging parents in the learning process.
Qualifications:
- Age 16 or older.
- Reliable transportation.
- Successful completion of background check.
- Strong knowledge of swimming and water safety skills.
- WSI Certification preferred (training available).
- Must successfully complete training and maintain required certifications.
- Effective teaching, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Responsible, professional, patient, and good with young children and diverse participants..
- Commitment to fostering skill development and a positive swim experience.
Salary and Benefits:
- Starting Pay: $16.50/hour - $25/hour depending on qualifications
Location & Shift Times:
- Location: Orono Education Link, 705 N Old Crystal Bay Road, Long Lake MN
- Shift: 9 AM – 4 PM during the summer, additional sessions on some Saturdays throughout the year. Hours vary based on program scheduling. Lessons are 30 minutes long.
