Purpose of the Position:
Assist Production Control Manager and department needs by conducting data entry, assisting with production planning, and support other departmental needs. The Production Control Scheduler is responsible for planning and coordinating the production schedule for the manufacturing line to ensure optimal efficiency and on-time delivery of products. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Data entry
- Gather and record production data into Excel spreadsheets
- Assist with production reporting, update, and maintain forecasts for customer orders
- Create and track purchase orders
- Assist with and conduct physical inventory counts as needed
- Additional duties as assigned by management
- Assist with all special projects as needed
- Cross train in other areas and other duties as assigned or required
- Develop and maintain a detailed production schedule based on customer orders, inventory levels, and production capacity.
- Adjust schedules as necessary to respond to changes in demand, delays, or equipment breakdowns.
- Coordinate with production supervisors to allocate resources, including labor, materials, and equipment, to meet production goals.
- Ensure that all necessary materials are available for production runs.
- Work closely with procurement, quality control, and shipping departments to align production schedules with inventory management and delivery timelines.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding production priorities and changes.
- Analyze production data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity.
- Prepare reports on production schedules, output, and any issues that arise.
- Identify potential scheduling conflicts or bottlenecks and propose solutions to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency.
- Troubleshoot production issues as they arise, coordinating with relevant departments to resolve problems quickly.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance scheduling accuracy and production efficiency.
Qualifications
- Detailed oriented and motivated with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong computer skills (i.e. Inventory systems, Excel, Word, Outlook etc.)
- Ability to work independently, excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to understand, speak and read English
- Previous automotive experience with high volume manufacturing preferred
- Proven experience in production scheduling or manufacturing operations.
- Previous experience with ERP software (i.e. Macola, Microsoft, SAP, etc.)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work overtime and needed.
- High School Diploma or GED
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for 8 plus hours daily
- Ability to use both hand, wrists, and arms with continual motion
- Ability to push, pull, grasp, and reach objects
- Ability to lift 50 plus pounds repeatedly
- Ability to bend, stoop and walk frequently
Working Conditions
Standard office environment. May require walking through production floor around noisy equipment. Temperature controlled facility.
