OrthAlign, Inc., a Smart Technologies, growing medical device company, has an immediate opening for a Market Development Manager for the ASC space responsible for driving market expansion and commercial execution within the Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) segment of the total hip and knee technology market. This role is responsible for go-to-market strategy, customer and distributor engagement, and partnership development to accelerate ASC adoption and revenue growth.
You will:
- Identify and execute strategic partnerships that enhance OrthAlign’s presence and value proposition within ASCs.
- Assess new market opportunities, including regional expansion, corporate ASC networks, and emerging reimbursement trends.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to inform product positioning and commercial initiatives.
- Provide market intelligence and insights on ASC decision-making processes, purchasing behaviors, and competitive dynamics.
- Lead engagement with ASC administrators, surgeons, and distributor partners to expand adoption and optimize commercial execution.
- Partner with sales to support high-value customer meetings, product demos, and key account strategy.
- Develop and execute a go-to-market strategy for the ASC segment, aligning with company revenue and growth objectives.
- Drive sales enablement, equipping the field sales team and distributor network with effective tools, messaging, and training.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing and Leadership to refine commercial strategies and market positioning.
- Support pricing, contracting, or value-based discussions with ASCs, surgeons, and administrators.
You need:
- Your BS/BA degree, 7 years of experience, or without degree and 10 years, in ASC management, business development, or sales development, preferably in orthopedics using technology
- Strong proficiency using MS Office Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and PDF software
- Demonstrates excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Results-oriented with appropriate urgency
- Self-motivated with the ability to work as a collaborative team member as well as independently
- Excellent attention to detail, producing high quality output
- Flexibility and strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Applies sound judgment when making decisions and communicating with internal and external customers
- Strong understanding of ASC economics, purchasing dynamics, and surgeon-administrator relationships
- Experience in distributor or vendor management, commercial strategy or P&L management
- Proven success in market development, partnership-building, and launching products or programs
- Ability to work with ‘C-suite’ and collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, and Leadership teams
- Ability to travel 30% for customer engagements, market development, and industry events
