Primary Responsibilities:
- Responsible for recruitment and onboarding processes
- Be the primary back-up for payroll processing, including bi-weekly and semi-monthly updates to employee files, bonus/incentive pay, vacation/sick pay, expense reimbursements and benefit changes.
- Handle employment related inquiries from applicants, employees and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Assist in the communication, interpretation and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory and organizational chart.
- Implementing relevant HR metrics to determine the efficiency and impact of the workforce
- Analyzing data and statistics for trends regarding recruitment practices, motivation and turnover.
- Compiling reports of data results and present these to the HR Manager.
- Review job descriptions for accuracy and to impact positively on employee retention.
- Assist in administering compensation and benefit plans.
- Help promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
- Assist in development and implementation of human resource policies.
- Undertake tasks around performance management.
- Organize and help implement annual employee performance reviews.
- Maintain employee files and HR records in electronic and paper form.
- Enhance job satisfaction by resolving issues promptly, assisting employees with questions and concerns, applying new benefits and organizing team building activities.
- Ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Training, Skills, Knowledge, and/or Experience:
- 3 - 4 years Human Resource experience
- Bachelor’s degree and/or HR certification preferred.
- Experience using HRIS systems, ability to learn new technical systems, when necessary.
- Thorough knowledge of recruiting and HR procedures and policies.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Excel, ability to create charts, spreadsheets and presentations.
- Familiarity with HR operations and hiring processes and procedures
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Resourceful mindset and strong attention to detail.
- In-depth understanding of labor laws.
