Job Summary: We are seeking a Medical Assistant/X-Ray Technologist to join our team. This dual-role position is responsible for assisting practitioners in patient care while also performing radiographic procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical and technical skills, ensuring high-quality patient care and diagnostic imaging in a professional, compassionate manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Escort patients to examination rooms and prepare them for procedures.
Record patient medical history, vitals, and update records in the electronic medical system.
Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
Perform basic clinical procedures such as drawing blood and collecting lab samples.
Properly clean and sterilize medical equipment, following infection control protocols.
Operate X-ray, C-Arm, and fluoroscopy equipment to capture diagnostic images per physician orders.
Adhere to radiation safety protocols and ensure patient shielding during imaging procedures.
Assist in fitting and instructing patients on proper use of durable medical equipment (DME).
Maintain inventory of medical supplies and ensure proper disposal of biohazard materials.
Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for patient visits.
Assist providers with pre-screening and preparation for procedures and surgical consults.
Maintain compliance with radiologic standards and clinic policies.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required; Certification (CMA or RMA) strongly preferred.
Current ARRT certification required for radiologic duties.
X-ray/C-Arm experience preferred.
Strong knowledge of patient care, medical procedures, and diagnostic imaging standards.
Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively.
Bilingual (Spanish/English) strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
Manual dexterity to handle medical instruments and operate imaging equipment.
Ability to lift and move up to 40 pounds.
Requires repetitive upper-body movements, including typing and handling tools.
Must be able to adjust focus and have strong vision capabilities (distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception).
