As a Therapy Referral Coordinator with OrthoArizona, you will get to:
- Preemptively coordinate and schedule physical therapy new patient appointments using internal referral reporting systems.
- Communicate necessary information to patients, staff, and therapists.
- Verify necessary information and record information in patient's medical record.
- Answer telephone, screen calls, clears voicemail, and returns patient calls in a timely manner.
- Answer questions regarding patient's upcoming appointments.
- Update patient information in the patient electronic medical record.
- Register patients in the patient electronic medical record as applicable.
- Confirm patient demographics and paperwork for accuracy, completions, and missing information.
- Ensure the proper clinical chart documentation and referral orders are present for all new patient appointments.
- Relay prior authorization and/or referral needs to the authorization team and desk staff in accordance with patient insurance coverage prior to services being rendered.
- Notify all applicable staff as to status/completion of above processes.
- Courteously interact with patients, family members, visitors, and members of the health care team; direct patient questions and/or complaints concerns to appropriate department; keep patients informed of auth/referral status.
- Schedules patients for follow-up office visits or procedures.
- Assist in uploading medical records to the patient electronic record.
- Assist with proper routing of incoming faxes and documents.
- Maintain medical records in accordance with practice policies and procedures.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school Diploma or GED.
- Accurate typing skills, minimum 50 words per minute.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Customer Service skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of computer programs.
- 1 year experience of referrals and insurance verification.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of medical front office experience.
