Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Accounts Receivable Manager to join our team. The Manager of Accounts Receivable will lead a team that supports our mission, vision, and office goals. This role involves creating an environment that fosters continuous improvement and innovation to ensure the implementation of best practices throughout the revenue cycle. The Manager will be responsible for maximizing the collectability of services provided, while ensuring policies and practices aligning with operational quality, efficiency, and compliance. They will collaborate with other functional areas to enhance system-wide efficiency and improve overall operations.
As the Accounts Receivable Manager, you will oversee the development and performance of direct reports, with an emphasis on training, performance management, and leadership development. This role requires a strong focus on enhancing revenue cycle processes, optimizing cash flow, and ensuring the accuracy and compliance of all financial activities.
Key Responsibility:
- Interact with managers and senior leadership to discuss and align revenue cycle goals, strategies, and operational improvements.
- Oversee the Accounts Receivable, Billing, and Collections teams and serve as the lead on vendor relationships to improve reimbursement, production, and process efficiency.
- Ensure that all staff receive training and can meet role expectations.
- Ensure accurate and timely billing and collections for patient accounts, including resolving claim rejections in compliance with insurance standards. Coordinate internal and external audits related to revenue cycle functions.
- Manage and monitor key performance indicators such as days in AR, cash/net revenue, A/R aging, and credit balances to ensure goals are met.
- Review and ensure that all adjustments made by the A/R team comply with organizational policies and standards.
- Communicate any cash posting discrepancies, unposted deposits, or adjustment discrepancies to senior management.
- Collaborate with senior management to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure the achievement of financial and operational objectives, particularly related to client cash flow.
- Oversee the team responsible for filing claims and managing claim rejections.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of prior management experience in Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) within the healthcare industry.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, CPT codes, and ICD-10 codes; experience in orthopedics is a plus.
- Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to create and manage spreadsheets and generate reports.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to develop and implement strategies that improve organizational effectiveness and client cash flow.
- In-depth knowledge of regulatory standards, such as Medicare, and the ability to ensure adherence to these regulations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop systems to control financial activity accurately.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
