JOB DESCRIPTION: Looking for CST/CSFA for our orthopedic hand surgeon.
JOB SUMMARY: Assist the physician to provide patient care in the clinical/surgical environment.
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Clinical Director
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Possesses strong initiative to get daily work finished and processed.
2. Complete all work/projects assigned to you in a timely manner or by its deadline.
3. Has ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other staff members.
4. Takes direction from Administrator and Physicians.
5. Maintains scheduled attendance.
6. Versatile and willing to coordinate with and participate in, when necessary, all other aspects of the Office.
7. Participates in the Quality Improvement process and activities including the areas of Safety, EMR, Patient Satisfaction, Physician Satisfaction, and OSHA Compliance.
8. Maintains confidentiality while following all HIPAA Guidelines.
JOB DUTIES:
CLINICAL
1. Assist physician in clinics. Call patients back to exam rooms. Update medication list and allergies with patient each visit, Order x-rays
2. Change dressings Remove stitches/staples, Prepare injections, Casting/splinting- if applicable
3. Surgical Instruments to be cleaned and put away out of the sink each clinic
4. Train and fit Durable Medical Equipment ( DME)
SURGERY
1. Assist surgeon with surgical procedures
2.. Assure all pre-op paperwork and H&P are available for surgery
4. Make sure all implants/special equipment are available- tech call the rep
5. Complete post-op calls and document in EMR
6. Call the surgical reps the day before procedure to confirm times and instrumentation needed.
7. Must take call on week their assigned provider is on call-or coordinate with supervisor if not available
WORKING CONDITIONS:
1. Sitting, standing and walking considerable amount of time
2. Extensive pulling, pushing, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds
3. Travel to satellite offices
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must have maintain current Florida CST or Surgical First Assist Certification and Nationwide Accreditation; current BLS CPR certification.
2. One year of work experience with assisting a physician in surgery or completion of accredited CFSA program with letter of recommendation from a physician.
3. Basic level of data entry and typing skills. EMR Athena preferred
5. Ability to accomplish multiple tasks as expeditiously as possible, while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
6. Maintain required CEU credits for current license.
7. Transportation to travel between offices; Adapt to Last minute schedule changes
8. Take Call the week your provider is on call
