JOB DESCRIPTION: Looking for CST/CSFA for our orthopedic hand surgeon.
JOB SUMMARY: Assist the physician to provide patient care in the clinical/surgical environment.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Possesses strong initiative to get daily work finished and processed.
- Complete all work/projects assigned to you in a timely manner or by its deadline.
- Has ability to communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and other staff members.
- Takes direction from Administrator and Physicians.
- Maintains scheduled attendance.
- Versatile and willing to coordinate with and participate in, when necessary, all other aspects of the Office.
- Participates in the Quality Improvement process and activities including the areas of Safety, EMR, Patient Satisfaction, Physician Satisfaction, and OSHA Compliance.
- Maintains confidentiality while following all HIPAA Guidelines.
CLINICAL
- Assist physician in clinics. Call patients back to exam rooms. Update medication list and allergies with patient each visit, Order x-rays
- Change dressings Remove stitches/staples, Prepare injections, Casting/splinting- if applicable
- Surgical Instruments to be cleaned and put away out of the sink each clinic
- Train and fit Durable Medical Equipment ( DME)
- Assist surgeon with surgical procedures
- Assure all pre-op paperwork and H&P are available for surgery
- Make sure all implants/special equipment are available- tech call the rep
- Complete post-op calls and document in EMR
- Call the surgical reps the day before procedure to confirm times and instrumentation needed.
- Must take call on week their assigned provider is on call-or coordinate with supervisor if not available
- Sitting, standing and walking considerable amount of time
- Extensive pulling, pushing, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds
- Travel to satellite offices
- Must have maintain current Florida CST or Surgical First Assist Certification and Nationwide Accreditation; current BLS CPR certification.
- One year of work experience with assisting a physician in surgery or completion of accredited CFSA program with letter of recommendation from a physician.
- Basic level of data entry and typing skills. EMR Athena preferred
- Ability to accomplish multiple tasks as expeditiously as possible, while maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain required CEU credits for current license.
- Transportation to travel between offices; Adapt to Last minute schedule changes
