What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Front Desk position at ORTHOPAEDIC SPORTS SPECIALISTS OF LOUISIANA LLC?
The front desk representative facilitates patient care at point-of-entry for all clinical locations. The primary responsibility of this position is patient intake.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Welcomes patients and visitors upon entry into the clinic.
- Assists with patient checkin/checkout.
- Verify insurance.
- Collects copays and deductibles.
- Enters patient demographics into EMR & practice management systems.
- Schedules followup appointments.
- Maintains reception area in a neat and orderly condition.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
- Professional, dependable, and maintains positive attitude in fastpaced environment.
- Organized and able to multitask to facilitate efficient workflow.
- Knowledgeable of medical terminology and general medical practice operations.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Basic office skills such as typing, filing, and operating phones.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Experience in office role (medical office preferred).
- Familiarity with medical scheduling systems is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

This is an in-person position located in Thibodaux, LA. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Typical schedule is Monday-Friday working 8 hour shifts.
