Patient Care Coordinator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Patient Care Coordinator to join our dynamic team at OrthoLA. In this role, you will be a point of contact for patients, managing clinical phone calls, scheduling appointments, and coordinating referrals to ensure a seamless experience for every patient. You will work closely with our physicians, clinical staff, and administrative team to facilitate exceptional patient care.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Triage patient calls, providing timely and accurate information regarding care, appointments, and procedures.
• Assist patients in scheduling appointments.
• Coordinate and schedule incoming patient referrals.
• Work with insurance providers to verify patient information and obtain any necessary authorization or approvals.
• Communicate with patients regarding their appointment details, including previsit instructions, necessary paperwork, and followup care.
• Maintain uptodate patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patient inquiries and concerns with professionalism and empathy.
• Assist with other administrative tasks as needed to support the clinic’s daytoday operations.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment and handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Knowledge of insurance verification and scheduling.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 12 years of experience in direct patient care in a healthcare setting.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

This is an in-person position located in Thibodaux, LA. This is a full-time, non-exempt position working a Monday-Friday schedule.
