Billing Specialist - Medical

Orthopedic Billing Consultants is a boutique Revenue Cycle Consulting Firm that specializes in Orthopedic billing.

Due to our rate of growth, we are hiring Billing Specialists to join our team!

OBC promotes a hybrid work schedule of 3 days in the office and 2 days of remote work!

Medical Billing Specialist Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical Billing Experience required - Orthopedic billing experience preferred.
• Three plus (3 ) years of experience in medical billing with a billing company or healthcare facility preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, and procedural modifiers
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing, over the telephone, and in-person.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize with excellent time management skills.

Medical Billing Specialist Job Description:

• Must provide a high level of customer service.
• Previous experience with commercial insurances, Medicare, PPO, HMO, Workers Compensation, No-Fault carriers and their guidelines.
• Research claim denials and completes adjustments accurately and timely.
• Follow up on reimbursement and appeals.
• Review and research credit balances as needed
• Efficiently utilize all functions of the client's software applications, including maintaining accurate and detailed charts and notes.
• Accurately document notes in medical software system per company guidelines
• Observe legal and ethical guidelines of HIPAA for safeguarding patient and company confidential and proprietary information.
• Understand and achieve team and individual goals as determined by OBC's leadership team.
• Other duties as assigned

Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
