Job Summary:
The Computer Support Technician will troubleshoot and maintain the organization's computer systems.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Maintains computer systems, installing new hardware and modifying existing hardware, and related software and applications.
- Maintains listing of all copiers, computers, and printers in service and updates on a regular basis.
- Installs and maintains peripheral devices including printers, hubs, routers, and other equipment.
- Knowledge of Windows computers - including troubleshooting, reimaging and sysprep.
- Communicates with end users to understand and troubleshoot problems.
- Maintains email and intranet services, adding and removing users and accounts.
- Collaborates with network administrator to review and analyze hardware and software needs; recommends changes.
- Sources IT equipment and components and works with appropriate personnel to acquire through contracted vendors first, then other non-contracted vendors.
- Manages copier maintenance program through appropriate vendor.
- Manages recycling of printer toner cartridges.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Supports Shortel phone system as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Basic understanding of existing network programs and capabilities.
- Basic understanding of the Windows operating system.
- Excellent workstation troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Education and Experience:
- Associate's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience preferred.
- At least three years of experience in computer maintenance and user technical support preferred.
- A , and/or similar certifications highly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds at times.
- May be required to work on-call or long hours in case of system malfunction.
