Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced IT PMO Director to oversee and manage the Project Management Office (PMO) within our IT department. The IT PMO Director will be responsible for ensuring that all IT projects are executed in alignment with company objectives, within budget, on schedule, and with the highest standards of quality. This role involves managing project portfolios, implementing best practices, ensuring resource allocation, and driving the execution of strategic IT initiatives.

The IT PMO Director will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient and effective delivery of IT projects and programs and contribute to the long-term success of our technology-driven initiatives.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Project Oversight: Lead the management of multiple IT projects, ensuring they align with business goals and priorities. Provide guidance and support to project managers throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Portfolio Management: Oversee the entire portfolio of IT projects to ensure alignment with strategic business objectives. Monitor project performance, track milestones, and report on progress to senior management.
  • Governance & Process Implementation: Establish and enforce standardized project management processes, methodologies, and best practices to ensure consistent project delivery and compliance with company standards.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks to project success, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure proactive resolution to avoid delays or scope creep.
  • Resource Management: Coordinate with functional departments to allocate resources effectively to meet project needs. Manage capacity and ensure that project teams are well-equipped and supported.
  • Budget and Financial Management: Oversee project budgets, track costs, and ensure financial resources are managed efficiently. Report on project financials to senior stakeholders.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Facilitate communication between project teams, business stakeholders, and senior management. Provide clear and concise project updates, status reports, and performance metrics.
  • Training & Mentorship: Lead the development of the PMO team by providing coaching, training, and mentorship to project managers and other staff involved in project delivery.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance project management practices, tools, and resources.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Business Administration, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • PMP, PQMP, or similar project management certification.
  • 10 years of experience in IT project management, with at least 2 years in a leadership or PMO role.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, Scrum).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a portfolio of complex projects with competing priorities.
  • Experience with project management software (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, Asana, etc.).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
  • Fast-paced, dynamic work environment, requiring adaptability and problem-solving skills.
