Salary: $180,000 – $240,000 (based on experience)

About the Role:
We’re seeking a highly motivated Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to join our growing team in Colorado Springs. This is a critical, high-impact role supporting the design, development, and implementation of secure systems for national defense and mission-critical programs.
You’ll play a key role in shaping cybersecurity strategies and ensuring systems meet stringent security standards. If you’re passionate about protecting systems, solving complex security challenges, and want to make a meaningful impact—this is the job for you.
What You’ll Do:
Develop and implement system security architectures aligned with DoD requirements (RMF, NIST 800-53)
Guide secure system design, integration, and implementation throughout the system development lifecycle (SDLC)
Perform risk and vulnerability assessments on systems and networks
Collaborate with system engineers, developers, and security professionals to ensure compliance and security best practices
Develop and maintain SSPs, POA&Ms, and other documentation
Conduct security reviews, audits, and technical analysis
Support A&A (Authorization & Accreditation) processes for systems under RMF
What You’ll Need:
Active Secret Clearance (required)
Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
5 years of experience in information systems security engineering
Deep understanding of RMF, DoD cybersecurity policies, and NIST standards (esp. 800-53)
Experience with secure system design, implementation, and continuous monitoring
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Bonus if you have:
CISSP, CISM, or Security certification
Experience supporting DoD, defense contractors, or classified programs
