LSA Fabrication - Operations Engineer

Principal Objective of Position:                                                                                                     

The Operations Engineer is responsible to manage and create machine programs and customer quotes, manage new parts and Engineering Change Notices, implement preventative maintenance schedules and programs, act as the liaison to service providers, perform regular inspections of equipment and supplies.  This position will oversee the Maintenance Department employees and ensure the Department functions according to division goals and expectations.

• Schedule maintenance tasks to Fabrication Maintenance team members and find relevant vendors and service providers.
• Develop and implement maintenance plans.
• Ensure quality control standards are consistently met.
• Purchase equipment, tools or materials that may be required to successfully maintain machinery and equipment.
• Ensure maintenance logs for all machinery are updated and accurate.
• Automate and implement preventive maintenance schedules.
• Work with contract maintenance and preventive maintenance vendors, as needed.
• Maintain maintenance records.
• Program machines as required.
• Provide pricing quotes to customers, as requested.
• Own the New Part Process for the division.
• Regularly review and recommend continuous improvement opportunities within the maintenance, programming, or new part processes.

Qualifications

Education and Experience Required:                                                                                           

• High School Diploma or GED or an equivalent combination of experience and education required.
• Minimum 1 year CAM and CAD software experience required.
• Minimum 2 years in a Maintenance or Mechanical Engineering role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:                                                                                  

• Knowledge in Business Intelligence software.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally to internal and external customers at various levels and backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications:                                                                                                                

• Previous supervisory or leadership experience.
