Summary:
In this role you’ll be responsible for providing pharmacy services, including, but not limited to dispensing and preparing pharmaceuticals, performing inventory control, compliance audits, and financial transactions, providing customer service, and maintaining pharmacy records; You’ll work as part of an interdisciplinary patient care team, and under direction of the staff pharmacist(s) and the department manager; This role is designed to utilize and extend knowledge and competency while performing technical pharmacy functions of the Clinic/Retail Pharmacy.
Typical Schedule:
Full-Time (.9 FTE = 36 hours/week). Rotating day shifts and one Saturday every 4-5 weeks. Hours of operation are:
Monday - Thursday 8 am - 7 pm, Friday 8 am – 5 pm, Saturday 8:30 am - 2 pm
Qualifications:
- Licensed or pursing licensure as a Pharmacy Technician in the State of Wisconsin, required.
- National Pharmacy Technician certification, preferred.
- Experience as a pharmacy technician, preferred.
Responsibilities Include:
- Filling prescriptions: Collecting information from customers and health professionals, measuring medication, and packaging and labeling prescriptions.
- Managing inventory: Tracking inventory, alerting pharmacists to shortages, and organizing medications for dispensing.
- Processing insurance claims: Accepting payment for prescriptions and processing insurance claims.
- Customer service: Answering phone calls, responding to questions, and arranging for customers to speak with pharmacists.
- Preparing compounded medications: Using non-sterile processes to prepare compounded medications.
- Maintaining records: Maintaining pharmacy records and participating in compliance audits.
