Job Title : Cath Lab / Special Procedures Tech

Guaranteed Hours : 36 Hours per Week
Experience : Minimum of 1 Year of Experience as a Cath Lab Tech
License : Registered with ARRT and Licensed by the State's Emergency Management Agency
Certifications : CPR Certified
Must-Have : Completion of a Two-Year Post-High School Training Program from an Approved School of Radiologic Technology and Six Months of Related Training in Radiologic Special Procedures
Job Description :
- Perform cine, digital subtraction angiography, and other specialized radiologic procedures under sterile techniques to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment.
- Prepare examination areas, position patients for procedures, and operate complex radiology equipment following established techniques and routines.
- Function as a scrub tech, arranging sterile setups, passing catheters and instruments, and responding to physician needs during procedures.
- Prepare patients by positioning them, applying sterile technique to catheter insertion sites, and explaining procedures to ensure cooperation.
- Operate complex radiology equipment, set and adjust controls to obtain diagnostic exposures, and ensure proper image transfer and archival.
- Monitor patient's cardiovascular and pulmonary systems during procedures, recognize irregularities, and alert physicians to changes in readings.
- Participate in mandatory department meetings and educational programs to support continuous quality improvement efforts.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with department personnel and assist in preparing rooms between patients.
- Complete monthly on-call requirements, including weekends and holidays.
- Successfully complete the special procedure technologist competency.
