Expected pay for this position is $36.39 - $42.81/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is a Salaried position.
Overview
POSITION SUMMARY:
Coordinates all aspects of point of care laboratory testing performed throughout the Medical Center, according to established department policies and procedures, including method selection, training, competency testing, proficiency testing, calibration verification, quality control, quality assurance, troubleshooting and record keeping in order to meet CAP, JCAHO, CLIA ‘88, OSHA, & CLSI accreditation and regulatory requirements. Provides feedback to staff managers. Additionally, coordinates the performance improvement initiative for the clinical laboratory.

Qualifications
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Laboratory Science/Medical Technology.
- Successful completion of the ASCP MT registration exam or NCA CLS certification exam within 1 year of employment.
- Alternate bachelor’s degree acceptable with successful completion of ASCP MT registration exam or NCA CLS certification exam prior to employment.
- Three years’ experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist.
- Experience in Microsoft software programs.
- Interpersonal skills necessary in order to communicate effectively with section personnel when directing work, with vendors when negotiating prices and evaluating new supplies and equipment, and with a variety of medical center personnel and physicians when gathering and exchanging technical information regarding testing procedures and other patient related information.
- Analytical skills necessary in order to direct laboratory POCT operations on a day to day basis.
