Description
Terms of Employment: 52 week
Reports to: Building Principal/Custodial Supervisor
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Responsible for all janitorial responsibilities.
2. Monitor operation of heating plant as needed, recording failure alarms, and resetting system or notifying
proper staff of a failure
3. Assist building custodian in boiler/heating system repairs.
4. Assist head custodian and be able to fill in for him/her when necessary.
5. Provide snow removal as needed.
5. Supervise building operations when activities outside of normal school instruction are being held.
6. Make minor repairs to building mechanical systems.
7. Promptly report any unsafe building maintenance to the building custodian.
8. Assist building custodian with routine mechanical repairs (for example, univents, belts, bearings, filters, checking oil and compression).
9. Assist building custodian with routine electrical repairs (for example, light switches, plugs on cords, ballasts, fuses on equipment).
10. Start and stop computerized energy management systems and check readings and reset these systems.
11. Identify blueprints, and parts of building blueprints relate to.
12. Attend district in-house boiler training.
13. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable and should
you be offered and accept this position there is no 30 day return policy in effect.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Successfully perform all janitorial I responsibilities as evidenced by Janitor I mastery check-off list.
2. Successful completion or experience of in-house power engineering courses, repair of minor mechanical and
electrical items is preferred, however, not required.
