Limited part time hours according to available grant funds Flexible schedule based on student needs and mentor’s availability Program continues through the summer months 1. Provides the mentees with support in the development of social and life skills. Examples include: -Facilitation of community sports involvement (such as participation in Oshkosh United, a traveling soccer team) -Facilitation of access to YMCA memberships at income-level appropriate rates -Coordination and organization of group outings to Wisconsin state parks, Little Farmer, and other local attractions 2. Assists the mentees with understanding American culture while maintaining and celebrating the youth’s cultural heritage. Past activity examples include: -Taking SRBs hiking, skiing, ONHS African dance teams 3. Provides opportunities for social engagement with peers by -Organizing peer to peer programs 4. Provides opportunities to participate in civic and community services activities; 5. Provides tutoring or other academic supports in the areas of English language, math, or other social, educational, or vocational skills; 6. Assists with transitions in school, such as the transition between middle and high school, or high school to post-secondary education; -FAFSA and college applications 7. Supports career development through vocational skill building, resume drafting, training on workers’ rights, or other career-focused training 8. Provides opportunities that support development in health and financial literacy.

1. Be at least 18 years old 2. Hold a high school diploma or equivalent 3. Be willing to adhere to all OASD policies and procedures 4. Be willing to communicate regularly with program staff 5. Document and submit activity information 6. Ability to respect confidentiality of families and staff 7. Strong organizational skills 8. Experience working with staff and families from diverse backgrounds and experiences
