The salary range posted represents the low and high end of OSI's salary range for this position. Salaries will vary based on various factors, including but not limited to, location, education, skills, experience and performance. Base salary is one component of OSI's overall total rewards package. Other components may include bonuses, special pay programs, comprehensive time off, 401k with match and a full suite of benefit offerings for you and your family.
This role is responsible for the full cycle accounting for the plant facility. Duties include preparing and maintaining accurate financial records by performing a variety of complex admin and accounting tasks, applying accepted procedures to the preparation and maintenance of financial records, and preparing financial, statistical, and / or technical reports to achieve the financial objectives of the location.
Job Responsibilities
- Support Divisional Controller and Plant Manager through standardized and consistent reporting.
- Coordination and execution of consistent accounting procedures in accordance with OSI company policies and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Develop and implement a training program for new accounting employees that provides an extensive introduction to the Systems / Culture / Processes that currently drive the business at OSI.
- Responsible for staffing, succession planning and identifying synergies between locations that can result in labor savings and cross functional efficiencies for the Region or Location.
- Act as point of contact with OSI Corporate to manage requests for information and coordinate due dates and provide consistent and accurate information.
- Work with other OSI facilities, regions, and corporate Accounting / Finance personnel to streamline the month-end, yearly close procedures, payroll, and budgeting process.
- Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regards to cost or variance analyses and profitability.
- Participate in management meetings to provide input on costing, expenses, pay-roll, capital investments and other financial matters related to existing or developing products and customers.
- Participate in a variety of internal and external audits by providing required financial information and explaining processes, procedures, and data. Follow up and implement any changes to enhance internal controls
- Supervise department staff to include; hiring, training, assessing, developing, disciplining and terminating.
- Ensure that staff has sufficient knowledge and resources available to successfully complete assigned responsibilities.
- Recommend methods, systems, and procedural changes to improve operating efficiency and financial information.
- Review financial statement detail for reasonableness and identify trends and unusual items.
- This role has the responsibility to understand and places in practice appropriate safety procedures. This responsibility is achieved through education, training, use of protective equipment (as applicable) and by following safety policies, regulations, standards, and laws.
