Associate Employment Litigation Attorney Job Description - (REMOTE / WFH)
The employment law firm, Osman & Smay LLC, has an immediate opportunity for an associate attorney with five (5) years of litigation experience. The successful candidate will work remotely to handle existing caseload and work to build firm presence in local jurisdiction. Candidate must be eligible for reciprocal admission to Kansas & Missouri bar associations. The successful candidate will work on litigation involving discrimination, retaliation, FMLA, unpaid wages, and/or breach of contract. Court and deposition experience required. Compensation based on experience and qualifications.
Requirements:
- 5 years of litigation experience; preferably focused on employment practice;
- Active license to practice law in Kansas & Missouri, or eligible for reciprocity;
- Excellent communication skills;
- Strong analytical, research, writing, and organizational skills;
- Exemplary time-management;
- Excellent internet connectivity and quiet remote work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Day one ability to handle existing litigation and prelitigation employment law cases, including discrimination, wage/hour, and retaliation;
- Client intake, communication, and management;
- Document review;
- Legal research;
- Preparation of legal memoranda, motions, briefs, pleadings, discovery, and correspondence;
- Take and defend depositions.
