Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. This position involves working in an outpatient setting/private practice. The practice offers various treatment strategies that considered both traditional and alternative.
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain patient records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Perform basic clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, administering injections, and drawing blood.
- Coordinate patient care activities, including scheduling appointments and follow-up visits.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
- Support the healthcare team in managing patient flow within the office.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and preventive care measures.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and physicians to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Order supplies needed for procedures.
- Assist with getting authorizations for treatment and or medications from insurance companies
Skills
- Experience in an outpatient clinical settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with medical-surgical practices and protocols.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of electronic health record (EHR) systems for documentation purposes.
