Primary Location & Hours :
Hillside Commons office, Oswego – flexibility required to work in public locations across Oswego County.
37.5 hours weekly, Monday – Friday : 8 : 30am – 4 : 30pm
Job Duties and Responsibilities :
- Oversees services to victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, trafficking, and crime.
- Provides direct supervision to assigned staff, including DV / CPS Advocate, Court-Based Advocates, and Advocate / Educators.
- Assists with documentation of services and case notes.
- Oversees response to consumers who are contacting in person and on the Crisis Hotline to provide information about services and the status of their services.
- Oversees services to survivors and families involved in the child protective, social service and / or legal system and prepare them for the various stages of the systems in which they are involved. Ensures quality working relationships with these community partners.
- Supervises advocacy and accompaniment services (including petition preps and filing of petitions through family court) on behalf of survivors to civil and criminal justice systems, including law enforcement, probation, assistant district attorneys, family court, and integrated domestic violence court.
- Coordinates and supervises prevention and empowerment focused education within the community including middle and high schools, university and college campuses, and targeted education to underserved and marginalized populations.
- Coordinates all community awareness efforts and supports SAF Education staff in conducting outreach events and campaigns for awareness months.
- Assists with coordination, scheduling, planning, and training of program staff. Will work collaboratively with SAF Leadership Team to ensure staff complete Crisis Hotline training and certification requirements.
- Assist victims with Crime Victim Compensation applications. Assist staff in completing Crime Victim Compensation applications. Works to ensure program staff are completing and submitting Crime Victim Compensation applications to meet program deliverables.
- Facilitates individual case management meetings with community service providers to increase victim’s access to services, problem solve and enhance collaborations.
- Ensures the training of community partners on domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, safety, offender accountability, and increasing victim’s access to services; collaborates with SAF leadership team and advocate / educators to provide these trainings to community partners.
- Assists with facilitation of meetings of the Domestic Violence Coalition of Oswego County.
- Assists SAF coordinator with completion of reports for various funders.
- Handles a variety of matters involving contact with various staff, agencies, and the public. Composes correspondence and disseminates to appropriate individuals.
- Maintains awareness and expertise of victimization issues, coaching skills for self-sufficiency, and best practices in the field.
- Provides program support and coverage at sites throughout the county, including the SAF House.
- Provides managerial on-call support for advocates responding to sexual assault calls and staff answering the Crisis Hotline.
