What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Teacher position at Oswegoland Park District?
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Implement a curriculum based on the developmental stages of the preschool aged child
- Work closely with the Preschool Coordinator
- Manage classroom behavior and program practices according to As We Grow Preschool guidelines
- Direct the work of the preschool Teacher Assistant
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- High school graduate with a valid diploma and 21 years of age, with 60 hours of college credits, 6 credits of which are in early childhood education
- One year experience working with preschool age children, with a special knowledge of children’s physical, emotional and social developmental patterns
- Acquire CPR/AED and First Aid certification and keep current
- Complete a minimum of 15 hours continuing education credits per preschool year
- Ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances
- Statement acknowledging mandated reporter of child abuse status
- Understand and exhibit behavior consistent with stated values of the park district
