What are the responsibilities and job description for the OT FOR TOTS Part time Medical Biller position at OT FOR TOTS?
OT FOR TOTS is hiring a medical biller with at least 6 months experience for our Eastside pediatric outpatient clinic for the morning hours Monday thru Friday for 20 hours a week.
Applicant must have certification in medical billing from an accredited program.
The Medical Coding Specialist will evaluate service documentation for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with the International Classification of Diseases Manual - Clinical Modification (ICD-10-CM), the American Medical Association’s Current Procedural Terminology Manual (CPT), and use of therapy modifiers.
Optimize reimbursement by ensuring that diagnostic and procedural codes and other documentation accurately reflects and supports outpatient visits and to ensure that data complies with legal standards and guidelines.
Reviews claims for completeness and accuracy before submission to minimize claim denial. Read EOB and interpret the information to follow up with claims and adjudicate claim denials.
Generate reports for services billed and provided weekly report on billing for all services to administrator.
Communication effectively with 3rd party Insurance payers with Medicaid, Military and Private Insurances.
Able to use EMR system and navigate through portals for billing.
Reads bulletins, newsletters, and periodicals and attends workshops to stay abreast of issues, trends, and changes in laws and regulations governing medical record coding and documentation.
Verifies co-pays and uninsured visits for all services rendered.
Assists patients with insurance papers and billing questions.
Maintains a clean and neat workstation/environment.
Other job-related duties, and/or as assigned.
